A Coming Deluge

God wants to restore the firmament of Genesis, this time with a canopy of His glory, to make the earth a garden once again.

When God spread the bright prism of the rainbow before Noah, He sealed His covenant that He would never again destroy His creation by flood.

The rainbow still shimmers with that promise. The Scriptures also radiate with the fullness of that same pledge: He will not only refrain from destruction by flood. He will restore creation by flood—a deluge of His Holy Spirit.

We have reached the point in the Creator’s scenario with man that He is ready to release a flood by His Holy Spirit to renew the face of the earth.

The timing depends on the heart of man. When enough men and women, to whom God gave dominion over the earth, have their hearts right before God, then God can make this earth a garden once again.

The Holy Spirit has today formed a people of His presence unlike any ever before. The time for the Holy Spirit to renew the face of the earth is now.

What would that amazing restoration look like? Let’s take a look at the bliss our planet lost.

Despite Adam’s fall, people who lived before the great flood enjoyed an earth resplendent in beauty. Though they lost Eden (which means "Delight"), the generations until Noah breathed air rich in oxygen, enjoyed a perfect climate that felt good all the time and soaked up a symphony of sound and color. If we take Genesis literally (and recent scientific studies show that we can), a shining blush-tinted firmament above the earth’s surface provided Noah and his contemporaries with a light show unrivaled in its radiance.

Luminescent color delighted the eye in Noah’s day. Viewed through the firmament, the stars shone in Technicolor. Sunrise and sunset beamed a breathtaking palette of hues. And this rose-tinged canopy screened out radiation from the sun, preventing sunburn and sun damage.

A symphony from space caressed the ears. The firmament served as a short-wave radio transmitter, relaying what Job called the music of the stars. In fact, the planets in earth’s own solar system aligned in a way to create a musical scale. Job 38:7 says "the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy."

This wonderful firmament, the Bible tells us, included in its make-up a very fine crystallized metal. The Hebrew word used to describe it means "crystallized hydrogen." Hydrogen in the firmament, creation scientists tell us, was compressed under cold conditions to form a metal. Metals, in their pure state, are transparent, as was the firmament. Tiny grains of hydrogen metal in this protective canopy became superconductive.

Superconductive metal levitates. Thus the firmament, just a few inches thick, floated above the earth, possibly about 10 miles above, according to computer reenactments based on the Genesis description. The Holy Spirit had earlier moved upon the face of the waters and His energy created a magnetic field. Then the firmament worked to maintain that electromagnetic field, keeping it recharged.

The heavenly canopy kept the earth a garden, even though God had cursed the ground due to Adam’s sin. The earth still yielded bounty by our standards. Gently warmed waters bathed the roots of vegetation and caused a misty dew to moisten leaves and fruit. The greenhouse effect of the firmament created a climate that today’s gardeners can only imagine. Man also flourished. The same firmament that boosted the air’s oxygen content constantly re-charged the earth’s magnetic field so that man’s physical health, strength and well-being, as well as mental brilliance, functioned at peak God-ordained levels.

God had formed man from earth’s own soil and had given man dominion over that same earth. In fact, Adam’s body came before his spirit. God created physical man first, before He breathed His own life into His man. Man and the earth shared a common substance from Adam’s first instant. Man’s core, his heart, influenced the earth to its very core. And man’s heart grew increasingly perverted. Lawlessness and violence ran rampant. The loving Father, who had fashioned the earth to delight His humans, repented that He had made man.

When the heart of man turned to "only evil continually," the earth’s internal structure, a perfectly balanced nuclear reactor, went awry. Man’s distorted nature had corrupted the earth. God’s judgment, ripe and ready, was constrained by His mercy as Noah hammered away at the ark.

Adam’s sin had cost him his glory covering. He found himself naked. In a similar way, the sins of successive generations cost planet earth its firmament covering, a canopy spun by God to shelter the earth and to dazzle its inhabitants with celestial glory.

At a precise hour, a week after God had shut the doors of Noah’s ark, the Almighty removed His protective hand. Then the earth’s core, contorted by man’s sin, erupted into nuclear meltdown. Thermal heating caused the fountains of the deep to erupt, shooting volleys of boiling water and steam upward to pierce the earth’s water-composed canopy. As the broken firmament disintegrated, the first rain fell. A cosmic thunderstorm ensued, with the earth’s inner waters and the firmament’s suspended waters unleashed upon the earth as a mighty flood.

Genesis tells us that in the flood God destroyed everything which had "breath," the same breath of His own life that He exhaled into Adam at his creation. The flood destroyed "all in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life," Genesis 7:22 says. The word used for breath is neshamah, meaning "the breath of life."

Except for Noah, his family and the ark’s animals, nothing with breath survived the waters, which prevailed for 150 days.

The same word "breath," neshamah, occurs (coincidentally?) in a psalm with the same number, Psalm 150, whose number among the psalms equals the days of the flood’s duration. Interestingly, this is the very last psalm and presents the final doxology for all the psalms. Its last verse, the final verse of all the psalms, proclaims, "Let everything that has breath (neshamah) praise the Lord!"

Today, God’s people, those who are close to His heart and living in His presence, are using every breath in their bodies to praise the Lord. A chorus of praise from His people all over the globe is rising to Him as a mighty thunder, mirroring the worship that the Book of Revelation pictures happening around God’s throne. Interestingly again, flood and storm images are used to depict magnificent praise, sounding "like the voice of many waters and like the voice of loud thunder." (Revelation 14:2)

The wellsprings of praise rising from the people of God to the Great I AM thunders like the fountains of the earth’s deep did when they released their pent-up waters. When the fountains of the deep erupted, great thunder resounded. The heavens, pierced by these water spouts, broke up and the sound of many waters roared.

Revelation 19:1-6 repeats the image in a mighty praise passage that culminates in verse 6:

And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!"

This is the very praise God is hearing from a multitude of His redeemed today. Praise is breaking forth from the earth like the fountains of the deep. In fact, spiritual gushers have opened on the earth, erupting from the Holy Spirit-perfected hearts of His people. These spiritual geysers will pierce the canopy of heaven and bring down a flood of blessing, renewal, peace, joy, health, deliverance and freedom.

When the enemy comes in, like a flood the Spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard against him. (Isaiah 59:19b)

How we need this Holy Spirit standard! Our world today reeks with the same stink that polluted Noah’s world. Will God, who promised not to destroy by flood, instead deluge His worshipper’s lives with glory?

Jesus Himself warned us that the end of time would produce a society similar to that of Noah. "But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be." (Matthew 24:37) We have ominous prophecies of coming judgment, just as in Noah’s day. But Jesus’ words also hold a promise for the people of God.

God had a plan for Noah and He has a plan for us. Six hundred years before the Flood, God, who sees divine appointments as crucial, brought forth a child with the name "Noah" which means "rest." (The name’s root word, nuach, means to rest, soothe and comfort.) Noah’s father, Lamech, predicted at his son’s birth, "This one will comfort us."

At this point in time, 6000 years after creation, which parallels 600 years after Noah’s birth, the world is careening on its axis because of lawlessness, just as in Noah’s day. God is calling His people into a seventh day rest, a rest reserved for the people of God. This rest was a work of God, "finished from the foundation of the world," according to Hebrews 4:3, and patterned after God’s own rest after the sixth day of creation. The rest God offers involves total reliance on the one whom Jesus called, "the Comforter," God’s own Holy Spirit.

For those close to Him, He promises a flood of restoration that will begin like Ezekiel’s river (Ezekiel 47), rising about our ankles, flooding to our hips, finally becoming a deluge that demands we jump in and swim, riding the current the way an eagle rides the wind.

The flood will come the way Genesis described the first flood. "The fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened." (Genesis 7: 11) When we worship God in the beauty of holiness" and "Give unto the Lord the glory due his name," (Psalm 29:2), then he will sit "enthroned at the Flood." He will give the command with a voice like thunder.

The voice of the Lord is over the waters. The God of glory thunders. The Lord is over many waters…the voice of the Lord is full of majesty…and in His temple everyone says, "Glory!" (Psalm 29: 3,4,9)

Christian poets, musicians, prophets and intercessors have thundered a cry to heaven, "God, send your rain." It is a prophetic prayer. And the way the God of majesty hears it is "Rain, reign, rain, reign, rain on us; reign over us!"

He wants to answer that prayer! His own Spirit inspires the plea. His Spirit is speaking in this hour about the Father’s dream to send forth His Spirit and renew the face of the earth. The following prophesies, received by the author and by her prayer group, express the dream of the Father’s heart.

A Flood of Restoration:

August 11, 1999: God is Love. Love is God. Love reigns sovereignly and supremely, far above any earthly king or power. When you see My rainbow in the sky, remember My pledge to all flesh that I might not ever again destroy the earth by flood. So be it. Now I AM God and I will be God to My people. All My blessings of Love shall rain/reign upon the earth like showers, a sweet rain. See my sign in the heavens, My covenant sign, My promise. Instead of an earthly flood, I will flood My people with blessing. You’ll feel the tide water rising above your ankles. Jump in and swim as the river of life reaches flood stage. "When the devil comes in, like a flood I will raise up a standard against him." Yes, a new flood is coming to the earth, to My people, and it is a flood of Life, not death, putridness and corruption. These waters bring life! Frolic in them, enjoy them! The flood is from Me. Jump in!

September 29, 1999: My reign is coming. My rain is coming. The rain refreshes and restores. My reign orders all things in righteousness. Doesn’t this sound good? It is! And it is coming.

Prepare your hearts for good things. Oh, yes, good things. For the evil and darkness will increase, but so will your joy. So don’t focus on the bad things. Look up! For your salvation is nigh.

I rain on the just and the unjust, but not with this rain. Just as the sun shone in Goshen only (during the plagues of Egypt) so shall this rain fall only on the just. They will lift shining faces to receive it with great joy and jubilation— jubilee.

I will open up the channels or vaults of heaven and pour out a rain that will be a deluge. Just as in the days of Noah when the enemy subverted My loving plan for the earth and for man, I will pour out restoration as a flood.

March 15, 2000: Now I am about to do a great work in the earth. I want you with Me. The springs of the great deep will open again in this time, which is like Noah’s day, and a flood of My glory and mercy will arise. Moreover, the heavens will rain down blessing, according to the Holy Spirit-inspired prayers of My people. The great deep will open and cause windows in the heaven to break through. And I will pour out My glory. Will this be cataclysmic? Yes, but all in the spirit. However, the earth which has groaned in its decay, longing for the revelation of the sons of God, will line up and follow suit because man is made from the earth. There is a commonality, a unity. Know right now, right here and now, that I AM God and I will do it. Amen.

March 23, 2000: Out of My righteousness will spring forth the fruit of the Holy Spirit. We’re going to see the harvest of the seeds/prayers we have planted through all these years. The fruit of the Spirit is going to overcome us like a flood, overcoming our whole being, our lives, our workplace. Peace, patience, love, goodness, faithfulness. We’ll be totally saturated.

A New Firmament:

(Note that God uses His ancient name, Eloah here, meaning the God of Love.)

March 27, 2000: Eloah, God of the Universe, speaks, saying, "Let there be a new firmament, the canopy of My glory (Isaiah 4: 5), not unlike the human placenta which translates between mother and child. Let it be like the Holy Spirit hovering over creation when the earth was formless and void. Let it be a covering for My people, a shelter not unlike those at the Feast of Tabernacles, a covering coming out of the blood of Jesus, like the animal skin of a sacrificial Lamb covered Adam and Eve.

Let praise from My people arise from the earth to form this canopy or firmament and let the Sun of Righteousness shine down to crystallize the waters and spin them out like fine shining metal. Let the praise rise like mist or vapor. Let the earth be like a well-watered garden once again. I have spoken. I will do it, says the Lord. I AM God and I will do what I say.

November 19, 1999: Eloah is God and He IS Love. Know that My love as a force in the universe will permeate ALL creation. The stars will sing in their courses of My Love. The depths of space will shout My name, Eloah, and the earth will rejoice in its place among the planets. I will restore My love and order to this creation, the universe, and the FIRE of My love shall recreate it, the heavens and the earth. So know now, My children, that the future is GOOD. Believe with Me, expect with Me, anticipate with Me the goodness of our God. Amen!

The Breath of Life:

March 16, 2000: When we worship and praise Him, it’s actually His breath being breathed out of us. When we’re in His presence He wants us to open our nostrils and breathe in the breath, the life of God. Just as His mercy is new every morning, if we take that breath, He will breathe life and restoration into us. He breathes it into us and it comes out in praise and that’s a complete cycle; that’s how He meant life to be.

A Garden Once Again

December 16, 1999: Eloah is. Love IS. Love exists as a primal force in the universe. See it, the Love that drives the motion of the planets, the Love that rules the universe. Let us make this place an Eden again, where man cooperates with God’s love and receives it so that Love creates a garden once again. You can receive it in the Spirit, by faith, before it becomes a physical reality. So go for it. Receive. I would give it to you…and you… and you. Make my earth a garden of joy and blessing again by receiving My Love to rule and reign in your hearts. Embrace My Love fully –100% -- and see it happen.

Tommy Tenney, in his wonderful book, The God Chasers, predicts that Satan won’t have enough storm sewers to drain off the coming flood of God’s glory. Tenney prophesies that artesian wells will jettison with a pent-up force. He writes,

Now He is about to release the next stage or wave of His anointing…these new wells will be artesian wells that will explode with great force. According to Webster’s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary, an "artesian well" is a "a well made by boring into the earth until water is reached which from internal pressure flows up like a fountain; a deep-bored well." This new wave or level of God’s glory will come solely from the "deep-bored" people of God’s presence. It will explode into our world with such force that His life-giving presence will push beyond every barrier and obstacle to flow into the thirsty streets of our cities and nations. This is how His glory will "cover the whole earth" (see Is 6:3, Hab. 2:14) Fountains of the deep will break open!

God Himself has spoken of a new era of His glory by the Holy Spirit when "the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea." (Isaiah 11:9)

Lord, let the pent-up wellsprings of the people of Your presence break forth and open the windows of heaven. Let the rain fall, Lord!

Let the Holy Spirit come like a pent-up stream. Let the water that flowed from Jesus’ pierced side flow like a torrent. Let it flow out of Jesus-in-your-people, Lord. Let it drench us as rain. Let your people pray, "Rain, reign, rain, reign, oh, Lord!"
